Strategy of Working
ORCD Global employs a multifaceted growth strategy focused on community empowerment, evidence-based practices, and strategic partnerships. Our approach to growth is as follow:
1.Evidence-Based Research and Policy Advocacy: ORCD prioritizes generating high-quality academic research to provide evidence for policymakers. This involves conducting studies across various fields to inform and influence policy decisions, ensuring that interventions are grounded in data-driven insights. This approach strengthens ORCDGlobal’s credibility and impact, fostering growth by positioning the organization as a trusted resource for governments and international bodies.
2.Community Empowerment through Evidence-Based Practices: ORCD Global mission emphasizes empowering communities to set and achieve their own development goals using evidence-based best practices. By focusing on grassroots community development and humanitarian projects, ORCD Global ensures sustainable growth by building local capacities and enabling communities to drive their own progress. This approach enhances ORCD Global reach and effectiveness at the community level.
3.Strategic Partnerships and Networks: ORCD aims to establish national and international networks by collaborating with sister organizations that share similar missions, visions, and strategic objectives. This includes supporting affiliate ORCD chapters globally through fundraising, technical support, lobbying, and advocacy. Such partnerships amplify ORCD influence and resource base, facilitating expansion into new regions and programs.
4.Humanitarian and Development Projects: ORCD Global focuses on alleviating suffering in conflict and post-conflict settings through projects like distributing non-food items (NFIs), tents, and blankets to flood-affected populations. These initiatives, often funded by donors like the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and Penny Appeal, expand ORCD footprint and impact in humanitarian aid.
5.UN Engagement and Consultative Status: ORCD special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2015, a first for an Afghan NGO, enhances its global presence and influence. This status facilitates collaboration with UN agencies like UNHCR, WHO, and UNDP, supporting ORCD growth through access to international platforms and resources.
6.Implementation of Large-Scale Programs: ORCD has grown by implementing significant programs, such as the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) and the Afghan Citizen Charter Program in Afghanistan. These initiatives, supported by government and UN agencies, demonstrate ORCD capacity to manage large-scale projects, contributing to its operational growth and reputation as a leading NGO.
7.Institutional Strengthening and Certification: ORCD growth is supported by its robust internal systems, as evidenced by its certification from the Afghanistan Institute of Civil Society (AICS) for excellence in program management, financial management, and strategic planning. This certification enhances ORCD credibility, attracting more funding and partnerships, which are critical for scaling operations.
